HAILEY’S COMMENTS Come celebrate the: The Great Communion with us, this evening at 6:00. I hope you will make every effort to attend our Special Joint Communion Service with First Christian Church and our community today. This is a celebration of the Lord’s Supper and a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the release of The Declaration and Address of Thomas Campbell. This is an amazing document that pleads for Christian unity by returning to the scriptures. Christians will be meeting together all over this country and in the world to partake of communion together. Our Care Groups will all meet together, here, for this service. This morning, we will begin a study of Peter’s second epistle. Our lesson, this morning is entitled: Your Calling and Election. We will be studying 2 Peter 1:3-11. The Bible teaches that election and predestination are involved in the process of salvation. The truth of the matter is that God has foreordained that a certain group of people will be saved and leaves it up to each individual to choose whether or not to be included in this number. I hope you will follow along with us and see how we can make our calling and election a certainty! This is a very busy day today, along with our special service this evening, we will also be having our monthly potluck after our morning period of worship. I hope you can stay around and enjoy the fellowship and great food together. Keep in mind, the ladies have their annual retreat coming up on the weekend of October 16-18. It sounds like a great weekend retreat is being planned! I love you with the love of the Lord. --Bob Hailey
Sunday September 27, 2009 Hailey’s Comments I sure enjoyed the trip to Abilene and the opportunity to attend Summit at Abilene Christian University. The theme this year was The Mountain of God, as we considered the story of Israel leaving Egypt and meeting God on the mountaintop. The main lectures were outstanding. I attended some very interesting insightful lectures pertaining to the restoration Movement and the Declaration and Address of Thomas Campbell. This was good preparation for the Great Communion Service coming up next week. I hope you will mark your calendars and make every effort to attend our Special Joint Communion with First Christian church next Sunday evening, October 4th at 6 p.m. this is a celebration of the Lord’s Supper and a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the release of The Declaration and Address of Thomas Campbell. This is an amazing document that pleads for Christian unity by returning to the scriptures. Christians will be meeting together all over this country and in the world to partake communion together. Our Care Groups will not meet next week. This morning the title for our lesson is: Right Relationships Are Important. We will be studying 1 Peter 5:1-14. The foremost duty of every person is to establish and maintain a right relationship with God and with our fellowmen (Matthew 22:37-40). Peter concluded his first epistle with some instructions to help in our relationships within the church. It is my prayer that we will be wise enough in our generation to foster and cherish this fellowship. Our Care Groups will meet this week. I hope you will make an effort to meet with a Care Group to study God’s word together. The times and places will be posted in the bulletin elsewhere. I want to offer a special thank you to those who helped in putting together our Intergenerational Worship time. I hope you are using your “peace” magnet. Keep in mind the ladies have their annual retreat coming up on the weekend of October 16th-18th. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob Sunday September 20, 2009 Hailey’s Comments Well, the wedding is over and Ben and Jackie are on their honeymoon as I write this. I want to offer a very special thank you to those who helped to make the wedding an unforgettably wonderful event for our family. Many attended the wedding and helped in ways that will never be forgotten. Thank you so much. Others stayed behind and took on my responsibilities here in Lockhart. Thanks so much to each of you. It is wonderful to have a new daughter in law and granddaughter, as well! Ben and Jackie will be on their way home as you are reading this. Please keep their safe trip in your prayers. This morning, we will be having our next Intergenerational Service. Our services are centered around the Fruits of the Spirit. Our theme this week is: Peace: It is Well. After services, this morning, I will be heading for Abilene and The Summit of 2009. The theme this year is The Mountain of God. It begins tonight and will continue through Wednesday. I will be returning Wednesday night late. Our Care Groups will not be meeting this evening. We will be meeting at 6 p.m. at the building. Brad will continue his study. I hope you will make an effort to be here for a good Bible study and also the family meeting to follow. Keep in mind we have some exciting events coming up for the congregation. 1. On Sunday evening, October 4th at 6 p.m. we will have a joint communion service with First Christian Church and be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the release of Thomas Campbell’s Declaration and Address. This is an amazing document that pleads for Christian unity by returning to the scriptures. Our Care Groups will not meet this week. 2. Also, the ladies have their annual retreat coming up on October 16th-18th.I hope everyone who can will make a special effort to be a part of these wonderful events. I love you with the love of the Lord.

Sunday September 6, 2009 HAILEY’S COMMENTS It is hard for us to believe that before this week is over, we will officially have a daughter in law, Jaclyn, and a granddaughter, Micaela. We will be leaving for Lubbock on Wednesday. This will enable us to get everything set up and ready to go for Ben and Jackie’s wedding, this Saturday. We appreciate so much everyone’s help in getting things ready. We could not do it without your help. We will be traveling back to Lockhart on Sunday afternoon, please keep us and the others traveling to and from the wedding and on the honeymoon in your prayers. Thank you! This morning, our lesson is entitled: Wearing the Name “Christian.” We will be studying 1 Peter 4:12-19. I hope you will open your Bible and follow along with us. The ministry of Jesus among sinful men brought great suffering to him. Christianity so identifies its adherents with its founder that there is no cause for surprise in learning that Jesus‘ disciples are frequently forced to suffer for his sake. 1 Peter was written to warn and fortify the disciples in the face of a particularly intense persecution which lay ahead shortly. It also prepares us for the suffering that we will face because of our faith in Christ. Our Care Groups will meet, this afternoon or evening. Their times and places are posted in the bulletin. I hope you will make an extra effort to attend one of our three Care Groups. You need the fellowship and we need your participation with us. Tonight, at 6, we will be showing the second half of the video, we watched last week. It is entitled: “One Nation Under Who?”, and deals with the culture war. We had a good crowd, Sunday evening. Come back if you can! I won’t have an article or outline in the bulletin, this next week, since we will be out of town. Norbert will be teaching my class and preaching in my place. Don will be covering for me at the prison. Thanks for your help. I hope you will stick around for our monthly potluck, Sunday morning. We will eat together following the morning service. It is always a great time together with good food and even greater fellowship. I love you with the love of the Lord. --Bob Hailey
Sunday August 30, 2009 HAILEY’S COMMENTS Well, school has already been in session for a whole week. I hope that all of our students and teachers had a great week. The good thing about this is that hopefully those who have been gone on vacation will be back with us. Please know that each of you were missed. Welcome back! I appreciate your patience in regards to our sound system last week. We now have a stack of batteries ready for any problem. I put a new battery in and it should be working now. I do believe the Keynote presentation of the sermon is so much better with the new projector. Also, the “wireless” microphones gives us some freedom that we didn’t have with the previous system, as long as we have batteries. This morning, our lesson is entitled: An Attitude Toward Life. We will be studying 1 Peter 4:1-11. I hope you will open your Bible and follow along with us. What is the meaning of human life? How does one find purpose for his existence. Will there be any final reckoning to be made of one’s life? Although these questions are old and common, in our text Peter gives us an insight into how “Biblical theism” will help us to answer these questions. Our Care Groups will meet, this afternoon or evening. Their times and places are posted in the bulletin. I hope you will make an extra effort to attend one of our three Care Groups. You need the fellowship and we need your participation with us. Next month will be a busy one for our family. On September 12th, Ben and Jaclyn will be getting married in Lubbock. It will be my privilege to do that service. We are excited to welcome Jaclyn and Micaela into our family, officially. Following that weekend, I will be attending the Annual Summit at Abilene Christian University. I will be here for that Sunday, but then leave Sunday afternoon. I will be returning Thursday morning. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks for your patience. I love you with the love of the Lord. --Bob Hailey
Sunday August 23, 2009 Hailey’s Comments Thanks to Joe and Tiffeny Howe and Joseph and Lucinda Gannon for their efforts with the Intergenerational Service. I hope you have made every effort to practice kindness during this past and in the coming weeks. We would live in a very different world if all Christians practiced kindness in their homes, jobs, church and community. Although the teachers have already been working for a couple of weeks, tomorrow our students will start back to school. Some will be going to school for the first time and others will be preparing for their final year of High School and everything in between. Our prayers go with you, your parents, and teachers. It is our prayer that you will have a wonderful school year and that you will be better prepared to serve God. May God bless and keep you safe and close to Him! This morning our lesson is entitled: Suffering for Doing Right. We will study 1 Peter 3:8-22. I hope you will open your Bible and follow along with us. Peter gives his original readers instructions on how to survive a most severe persecution that is soon to come under the rule of Nero. He was responsible for the death of both Peter and Paul. In doing so, Peter gives us inspired instructions on how to live in a world that is at best apathetic toward or worst openly hostile to Christianity. How can we be working together to help one another remain faithful to Christ? Our Care Groups will meet this afternoon or evening. Their time and places are posted in the bulletin. I hope you will make an extra effort to attend one of our three Care Groups. You need the fellowship and we need your participation with us. This afternoon at 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, across the street, there will be a community wide prayer session. The community is gathering to pray for rain and the strength to face the future, whatever God chooses for it to be. I hope you will try and attend. Next month will be a busy one for our family. As most of you are aware, on September 12th, Ben and Jaclyn will be getting married in Lubbock. It will be my privilege to do that service. We are excited to welcome Jaclyn and Micaela into our family, officially. Following that weekend, I will be attending the Annual Summit at Abilene Christian University. I will be here on Sunday, but then leave Sunday afternoon. I will be returning Thursday morning. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks for your patience. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday August 16, 2009 Hailey’s Comments On Sunday morning I am teaching a series of lessons entitled: Discovering Our Roots: The Ancestry of Churches of Christ. This morning we will be studying about our Roots Among the English Puritans. This will be leading to the October 4th celebration of the 200th anniversary of publication of Thomas Campbell’s “Declaration and Address.” This is a document that called for the unity of all believers based on going back to the Bible. This was an incredibly costly and courageous stand by both Thomas and Alexander Campbell and many others. It is valuable to learn from our past, so we don’t repeat our mistakes and can learn from the success that God had blessed. We are making plans for a joint service with First Christian Church on Sunday evening, October 4th. If you are not already attending class, we would love for you to come study with us. We will be having an Intergenerational Service this morning. Over the next ten months, not including December, we will be having our special service once a month. Our theme will be the fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. We will be examining each one of the nine and considering a Bible story that illustrates each of these. This morning, as we begin the school year, we will be focusing on “kindness.” We will be looking at the story of Dorcas. I appreciate so much the work of those who make these Intergenerational Services so special: Joe and Tiffeny Howe and working with them Joseph and Lucinda Gannon. I hope you will join and participate fully. Our Care Groups will not meet tonight. This is the third Sunday night of the month. Come back tonight at 6 p.m. and let’s study Colossians 3:18. This will be followed by our monthly family meeting. We want to extend our condolences to Dusty Sneed and her family as her father passed away this past week. The funeral services for him will be Tuesday morning at 10 at McCurdy’s Funeral Home. Please keep them in your prayers. Next month will a busy one for our family. As most of you are aware, on September 12th, Ben and Jaclyn will be getting married in Lubbock. It will be my privilege to do that services. We are excited to welcome Jaclyn and Micaela into our family, officially. Following that weekend, I will be attending the Annual Summit at Abilene Christian University. I will be here for that Sunday but then leave Sunday afternoon. I will be returning Thursday morning. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank for your patience. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday August 2, 2009 The Heart “Tomorrow morning,” the surgeon began, “I’ll open up your heart…” “You’ll find Jesus there,” the boy interrupted. The surgeon looked up, annoyed “I’ll cut your heart open,” he continued, “to see how much damage has been done.” “But when you open up my heart, you’ll find Jesus in there,” said the boy. The surgeon looked to the parents who sat quietly. “When I see how much damage has been done, I’ll sew your heart and chest back up and I’ll plan what to do next.” “But you’ll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You’ll find Him in my heart.” The surgeon had had enough. “I’ll tell you what I’ll find in your heart. I’ll find damaged muscle, low blood supply and weak vessels. And I’ll find out if I can make you well.” “You’ll find Jesus in there too…He lives there.” The surgeon left. He sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, “…damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration. No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:” here he paused, “death within one year.” He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. “Why?” he asked aloud. “Why did you do this? You’ve put him here, you’ve put him in this pain, and you’ve cursed him to an early death…why?” The Lord answered and said, “The boy, my lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of my flock and will forever be here. Here, in my flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here and they will know peace and my flock will continue to grow.” The surgeon’s tears were hot but his anger was hotter. “You created that boy, and you created that heart. He’ll be dead in months. Why?” The Lord answered, “The boy, my lamb, shall return to my flock for he has done his duty. I did not put my lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb.” The surgeon wept. The surgeon sat beside the boy’s bed. The boy’s parents sat across from him. The boy awoke and whispered, “Did you cut open my heart?” “Yes,” said the surgeon. “What did you find?” asked the boy. “I found Jesus in there,” said the surgeon. Author Unknown

Sunday July 26th, 2009 Hailey’s Comments
We took a group of almost 30 to the Round Rock Express game Thursday evening. I hope everyone had a great time. It has been a very busy, but a very good summer. We are planning one more event for the summer and this is on Sunday, August 2nd, we will be having a “Hot Dog” potluck (cf. the bulletin for further details).
This next week our family will be gone to Lubbock to make final preparations for Ben and Jackie’s wedding on Saturday, September 12th. We will leave out on Monday and come back either Friday or Saturday. We don’t plan on missing Sunday. Keep us in your prayers as we travel and make arrangements for our portion of the wedding.
We still need additional teachers for some of our grades and preschool for the Fall. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. We have so many children we need teachers to teach them the Bible. This is a critical task for the congregation. We specifically need a teacher for the 4th and 5th grade beginning in September. If you can help, please talk with Betty or Bob. Thanks.
This Sunday morning, I will begin teaching a class on the Restoration Movement in Bible Class. This is a very exciting and challenging time in the history of our movement. This series of lessons is entitled: Discovering Our Roots: The Ancestry of Churches of Christ. It is valuable to learn from our past, so we don’t repeat our mistakes and can learn from the successes that God has blessed.
Our lesson this morning is entitled: Being Built Into a Spiritual House. We will be continuing our study of 1 Peter. W will be studying 1 Peter 2:4-10. God is building us a spiritual house. Peter is writing to a church that is struggling with its identity and place in society. How are they supposed to deal with being counter-cultural? Peter reminds them of their home and they realize that even though they are foreigners and strangers in this world, there is no place like the home that God provides for His people in Christ Jesus. Today we face many of these very same struggles, how should we handle being counter-cultural? Let’s spend some time studying what Peter said to his band of believers and what he is saying to us today.
Our Care Groups will meet today. Please note the time and places where our Care Groups will be meeting. I hope you will make an effort to attend a Care Group this afternoon or evening. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday July 19, 2009 Hailey’s Comments It is hard to believe that our summer is already drawing to a conclusion. We have a few more activities planned for our young people. We will have one more week of our Story Hour for our young children. If you haven’t had a chance to attend, come and try it one time and look forward to next year. They have been studying the fruits of the Spirit. They meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
This past Friday night, we had a family FUN night for our young people and their families. I believe a good time was had by all those who attended. We plan this Thursday evening to take a group to go see the Round Rock Express play baseball. The definite arrangements will be announced this morning. Listen and sign up if your can attend. We need additional teachers for some of our grades and preschool for the Fall. We have so many children we need teachers to teach them the Bible. This is a critical task for the congregation. We need a teacher for the 4th and 5th grade beginning in September. If you can help, talk with Bob or Betty. Thanks. Our lesson this morning is entitled: A Home for the Homeless. We will be continuing our study of 1 Peter. We will be studying 1 Peter 1:13-2:4. The small group of believers has a visitor named Silas. He has a letter to share with them. There is a great deal of excitement for the letter is from the Apostle Peter. Peter wants to encourage them as the Christian way is being threatened in Asia Minor. Let’s spend some time studying what Peter said to this band of believers and what he is saying to us today.
Our Care Groups will not meet today. We will be meeting at the building at 6 p.m. today. I hope you will make every effort to attend tonight. This is a good time for the family to be together and discuss the Bible as a whole group. Don’t forget our family meeting that follows the evening Bible Study. Last Sunday evening, our family was blessed to attend the Unity Service for the three streams of the Restoration Movement. It was an exciting and inspirational time shared by all three groups of the restoration Movement—(Churches of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and the Christian Churches/churches of Christ). This was the third one and was in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Unity forum that was held at the University Avenue Church of Christ on Saturday. I enjoyed each event very much. Next year, I hope others will make plans to attend if possible. It is very insightful. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday, July 12, 2009 Hailey’s Comments I hope everyone had a good fourth of July weekend. It was good to see so many visitors at services Sunday morning. I know the month of July is a busy month for families that are traveling before school starts in August. I hope that you will make it a point to be here when you can during this month. We took a group to the SYS in Pleasanton this past Thursday night. I know everyone had a very enjoyable and inspirational time. We are planning future events for our young people during this month. Your help will be greatly appreciated. We want to have another family movie night and also hopefully a trip to see the Round Rock Express play. Please listen for the announcement about these events. Also, don’t forget the Children’s Story Hour on Tuesday morning at 10:00. This will continue throughout the summer. It is being well attended. Also, due to circumstances beyond our control, we need additional teachers for some of our grades and preschool for the fall. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. We have so many children we need teachers to teach them the Bible. This is a critical task for the congregation. We need a teacher for the 4th and 5th grade beginning in September. If you can help, talk with Bob or Betty. Thanks. Our lesson this morning, is entitled: A Living Hope. We will continue our study of 1 Peter. We will be studying 1 Peter 1:3-12. The small group of believers has a visitor by the name of Silas. He has a letter to share with them. There is a great deal of excitement as the rumor is that the letter is from the Apostle Peter. Let’s spend some time studying what Peter said to this band of believers and what he is saying to us today. Don’t forget our Care Groups this afternoon and evening. I hope you will make a special point to attend a Care Group today. Their times and places will be posted in the bulletin. This evening at 6 p.m. at the Central Christian Church in Austin, there will be a joint worship service for the three streams of the Restoration Movement (Churches of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and the Independent Christian Churches.) This is the third one and is in conjunction with the work we have been doing here. My family and I plan to attend. We will plan to leave around 5 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please let me know and maybe we could take a group. I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday July 5, 2009 Hailey's Comments
I hope everyone had a great July 4th. We are still blessed to live in this country. Let’s thank God for His blessings for our nation and let’s never forget that the source of our greatness is God. It is my prayer that God will continue to bless America and may America never forget God. We had a great week at camp. Our camp was a full session. Our children did an outstanding job. We had a total of 21 at the Peach Valley Camp, this year, from this congregation. This includes staff and campers. It was a busy week, but I believe that it was a very educational and enjoyable time. I was pleased at how well our youth did with the Bible Bowl over the book of James. Your contribution made it possible for so many to attend! Thanks. I appreciate those who took my place, this past Sunday. It is good to be home. This morning, I want us to begin a study of 1 Peter. Our lesson, this morning, is entitled: There’s No Place like Home. Home!!! It is not simply a place or time, but a state and condition of being. Deep within us is a yearning for home. If we’re not at home, we long to be there. If we do not have a home, we wish for one. In this world, we will always be aliens and strangers, but we are chosen by God and He has a home ready for us. I hope you will study with us as we examine: 1 Peter: 1:1-2; 5:12-14. Don’t forget that today is our first Sunday of the month potluck. I hope you will plan on staying around and eating together. This is a great time for fellowship together. Also, we will be meeting in our Care Groups, this afternoon and evening. The times are posted in the bulletin. Please plan to attend one of our Care Groups! We had a great time at the Celebrate Freedom Concert. It was AMAZING! It was also extremely hot! I am so grateful that we had a safe trip and inspirational time together.
I love all of you with the love of the Lord! --Bob
Bob Hailey, Minister, is on a much needed, deserved and we hope most enjoyable vacation and will return next week.
A word from one of our Secretaries:
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who had a hand in helping out with VBE this year. I think you all did an incredible job and the kids loved it! This was the first time for me to oversee such a big event with the church and I have to say each of you made the experience a lot of fun. You all worked so hard on everything from the float all the way through to the cleaning and resetting the rooms. I feel all of you took a big step in letting me take this plunge and I am glad you all respect me and have enough confidence in me to know that I could do this. For those of you who don’t know, our theme was Shine Jesus Shine! and we told stories of some the miracles Jesus performed while walking the earth. Each room had a different theme and each child came out with a new story to tell. Some of our kids are still telling the stories of what they learned. I find it interesting how this program really captures the young ones attention and makes them feel a part of the stories they hear. It is a wonderful outreach to our community and a blessing to be such a part in that outreach. Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication for this program. I know it takes a lot of time away from family and I feel we are all lucky enough to have families who support us and this work we do here at the church. I hope you will all be around to help out again next year, because I think I was volunteered to do this again myself… unless anyone else wants the job? Regina Rush PS. The Elders were glad to hear we stayed way under budget too!!! Great job everyone!!!!!! PS. The Elders were glad to hear we stayed way under budget too!!! Great job everyone!!!!!!
Sunday June 21, 2009 Hailey’s Comments What a great time we and with our Vacation Bible Experience. We had a good number of visitors as well as so many of our congregation actively involved in making our VBE an outstanding success. On Monday, we had 106 present. On Tuesday, we had had 104 present. On Wednesday, we had 125. Thanks so much for all of your efforts. Once again, Betty and I want to offer a special “thank you” to Regina Rush for her directing VBE this year. She did an outstanding job! Today is Father’s Day. We want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all of our fathers. Our lesson will be for fathers and future fathers and our responsibility to be the spiritual leaders of our home. The principles apply to all of us. The lesson is entitled: “Promises to Jeremy, Ben and Kari.” As my children were born, I have made certain promises to them that I have tried to live by while they were growing up in our home and even now that they are out on their own. Our text is taken from Ephesians 6:1-4. I hope you will study along with us. This is the third Sunday of the month and so there will be no Care Groups. Everyone is invited back to the church building at 6 p.m. for a time of worship and Bible Study together. Brad will continue his discussion of the scriptures for us. Our family will be at Camp. We have 18 from here who have made plans to attend Camp at Peach Valley this morning. Please keep us in your prayers. Camp begins today and continues until Friday night. Our camp is full and we are so excited about the opportunity to shape the loves of these very special children! Our family will be gone next week. We will be traveling to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the Celebrate Freedom concert on Saturday, June 27th. This is the largest Contemporary Christian Music Concert in the world. We will be traveling back Sunday evening. Our whole family is planning to attend. Keep us in your prayers. Love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
June 14, 2009 Hailey’s Comments This past week has been very busy. We have been getting our rooms; the auditorium and the float ready for the parade and VBE. Our Vacation Bible Experience begins tomorrow at 7 p.m. Our theme this year is, Shine, Jesus Shine! Many invitations were passed out yesterday during the parade. We still need you to invite your friends and neighbors. Our VBE will be for ages 3 thru 5th grade. Our older children will be helping in each of the rooms and with the group leaders. Thanks so much for your efforts. I want to offer a special “thank you” to Regina Rush for her directing VBE this year.
We had a fabulous time at the Pool Party for our children. Kari shared with the children and their parents to plan for the summer. She also asked for the help of the parents and for them to let her know when they could be available to help. This week, our young people will be focused on VBE. Next week, a large group of our young people will be going to the Peach Valley Christian Youth Camp.
This morning our lesson is entitled: “The World Is Not Worthy of Them!” Hebrews 11 is one the most inspirational chapters of the Bible. We are given a list of people who faithfully served God and we are challenged to learn from their lives and their demonstrations of faith. As we prepare for this week of reaching out to our community, we need to learn from their example. I hope you study along with us and be encouraged to get involved in the activities this week and this summer.
Today we will be meeting in our Care Groups. I hope you will pick one to attend. Times and places will be announced and in the bulletin.
I sure enjoyed the potluck this last week. Thank you, Brad for all the sausage. Thanks to all those who made food and helped to set up and clean up. Also, we appreciate all those who stayed around and helped to move our furniture so we could be ready for our VBE set up week.
I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob
Sunday June 7, 2009 Hailey’s Comments We appreciate your patience after the break-in on Monday, May 25th. As a result of the computer being stolen, we were unable to do a bulletin last week. We are back this week even though we are working on the old computer for now. It was great to see how much work for the Lord is being done by people from this congregation. We have people who are walking across the room, getting out of their comfort zone to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was exciting to hear from Kari and Ashley about their mission trip to Denver Colorado to work with the Dry Bones Ministry. I am thrilled to have Kari working with me for the summer. I look forward to a very active and meaningful summer for our youth of all ages! The summer has begun and already much is planned and already started. Today, we will be moving the furniture out of the rooms. This coming week is our VBE set up week. Please plan to stay around and help us move the furniture. It doesn’t usually take very long. Also, this Sunday is our monthly potluck Sunday. Our plan is to move the annex furniture at least after the potluck together. Plan to stick around for both events if at all possible. We need your help. This morning our lesson will conclude a four-part series of lessons entitled: Walk across the Room. I want to challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and to walk across the room or the neighborhood to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with a world that desperately needs to hear it. I want to challenge you to demonstrate the love of God to this community and you will see what an incredible difference we can make. Our lesson this morning is entitled: Fearless Future (3). There is much that we can do here in Lockhart, Texas to reach out to our world. I hope you will study along with us and decide to get involved. Keep our VBE program in your prayers. Our theme this year is: Shine, Jesus Shine! The time is 7-8:30 p.m. Make plans to be involved and to attend and bring visitors with you. Invitations are available to give to your friends and neighbors. We will be studying the life of Christ. Today we will be meeting in our Care Groups. I hope you will pick one and attend. Times and places will be announced and are in the bulletin. Thanks to those who helped with the Lock-in for our young people and the Summer Youth Series this past week. I love you with the love of the Lord.--- Bob |
