This is Super bowl Sunday and even though my team is not playing, it is still an exciting day. For Pittsburg and Arizona fans, it is quite an exciting time. I hope you enjoy watching the Super Bowl, but first don’t forget the opportunity to make this an even better day by spending time studying and discussing the word of God as well as being together with other Christians.
Don’t forget this is the first Sunday of the month and the time for our monthly potluck. This is always a great time of good food and fellowship. It is early in both February and March. Stick around and let’s have some blessed time together.
Dave Ramsey was in San Antonio at Freeman Coliseum yesterday. If there are enough people interested, we will be offering a Dave Ramsey Class this spring. Our potential class is advertised on the Dave Ramsey website. Our two Pre-sessions will be Tuesday, February 10th and 17th at 7 p.m. If we have enough to have a class, we will begin our class on Tuesday, February 24th at 7 p.m. Let me know if you are interested.
This morning we want to continue to discuss Stories about God Everyone Should Know. Our lesson this morning is entitled: Abraham and Sarah. Even though Sarah was 90 years old and Abraham was 100 years old, still God promised that they would have a son. Even with their laughter and limited faith, God was able to build a nation and bring a Savior into the world. There was much for the Israelites and us to learn from God’s covenant and relationship with Abraham. I hope you take a Bible and follow along as we consider this story.
This afternoon and evening we will once again be meeting in our Care Groups. The times and places of meeting will be posted in the bulletin and be announced in our Sunday morning worship period. Plan to attend a Care Group this afternoon and then enjoy the Super Bowl!
I love you with the love of the Lord. ---Bob |
