HAILEY’S COMMENTS

I sure want to thank all of those who helped with our monthly Intergenerational Service. Our theme was Faithfulness. We must take our Christianity outside the building and be faithful to our God as were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. We, too, are called upon to bow before the world and the pressures of our culture. Let’s don’t let Satan get in the way of our commitment to God. Don’t get too busy with Satan’s agenda and miss the things of God, just like was so powerfully illustrated.
This past Tuesday, it was exciting to have representatives from the Central Texas Children’s Home in Creedmoor, Texas, to present the program at our Kiwanis meeting. It was my week to have the program and they were graciously willing to come. Tom Hagan, the new Director of the Home, and Charles Goodnight came, despite the weather, and did a GREAT job. Let’s keep this home in our prayers and in our support. They are doing a very tough work and doing it successfully with God’s blessing.
This morning, we will conclude our series of lessons on Christian marriage entitled: Love and Respect. The focus of our study will once again be Ephesians 5:33. At that time, we will be discussing: The Rewarded Cycle. We want to get beyond the Crazy Cycle and we want to put into practice the Energizing Cycle. What happens if when we give our spouse what they need, our spouse refuses to give or is unable to give what we need, what are we supposed to do as Christians?
Don’t forget your Care Group Meetings, this afternoon and evening. The times and places will be posted in the bulletin. I love to go to Care Group. It is a great time to get to know and love others, while being blessed by God’s word. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Next Sunday, we will have our monthly Potluck. It is hard to believe that we are about to start the third month of 2010. I hope you will plan to be here and stick around for the great food and fellowship.
I love you with the love of the Lord. --Bob Hailey
